Topic: Introductions Posted: 21 Jan 2010 at 10:25am |
Hey there! Welcome to the forums on Molten Byte Design. Just wanted to say hi, and introduce myself. My name is Tyler Conlee, and I'm currently attending college in Portland, OR. I've been designing games using FPS Creator for the last 5 years, and building websites for about that long. I've taken a huge liking to graphic design, and am attending college for a degree in it. With it, I hope to work on logos, movies, etc. as I have had a lot of fun working with each. The forums here on Molten Byte Design are similar to the old forums on Gunn3r Games. There really aren't that many strict rules here. A lot is tolerated, but if you do step over the lines multiple times, we will not hesitate to take action. However, most of the time, it doesn't come to that, so let's just move on and continue developing, painting, creating or whatever you enjoy doing.
This particular topic has been closed so that it doesn't grow out of control, but we welcome you to create your own thread so that we can get to know you!

(Since this is 'Introductions')
Was'up everyone? I'm Orrion Carn (Or-ryan_Car-n), or Orrion, Carn, Carny, however you like.
I was apart of the original GG Forums as a FPSC developer, though I've slowly left those humble roots for other things, like garage developing in the Unreal and Gamemaker Engines with my brother.
I'm a very avid writer, and write every day of the week, 365 days of the year. I post my writings everywhere, so you might (90% sure of it) see one of my postings here.
Long-Story short, I'm here, and I'm ready to experience MBD like everyone else who joins up. Enjoy!

Hi, everyone. I'm bugsy. I am not too new with FPSC, but I consider myself still learning game design. I use Flash, FPSC, Unity 3d, Hammer editor, and a few other programmes to make games. I like to be helpful, and while I don't make models further than a pipe or a box, I can always provide scripting help, and other advice. especially level design. I'll see you later on the forums, and check out my project, When Worlds Collide in the showcase section!

Hi, I'm CoffeeGrunt. I used to use FPSC back when Gunn3r Games was still up, but have moved onto using the Unreal UDK in the last few months - it's been going quite well...

So yeah, I'm Marcus. You might know me as Roger Wilco on the TGC boards. My life consists pretty much of gaming. Both playing and developing. Whenever I don't play or construct virtual lives, I usually just chill out, listen to music. I'm a big fan of rock in most forms, especially the Seattle-derived genre Grunge. If you've got an account on Steam, feel free to add me. There, I go by the name ZemusEX, or Metal_OverlorD as my original account name is, before the community feature was added. Adding either one should work, just look for a swedish guy with a Vault Boy-avatar.

Hey everyone. I'm Zane and I'm a high school student in Dublin, Ohio. I've been programming since I was 6 or 7, and have been developing in C# for about 3 years now. I'm experienced with writing games, client-server applications, and best of all... three-tiered database systems! </sarcasm>

Heya all. I'm just a regular guy from Finland who enjoys making games and composing music with "professional music creation softwares", like Skale Tracker, Mad Tracker and Renoise. But yeah, my main interest is on game developement and my personal dream is to run a well-known game company in the future. Yeah, it's good to have your hopes in the clouds :D.
Anyway. Nice to meet you all! I hope I'll get many good moments on these forums.
Ciao

Heya. Priske pointed me to these forums, i figured participating could be fun, i used to be a member to several of these in my early days but they died off and i found other things to occupy me.
I am known as Shigee (pronounced Shiggy). I am an art director currently, and do art direction and 3d game art on the side on a freelance/contractual basis.
If i can be of help to anyone in your various efforts, whether that is to answer questions, criticize, or provide artistic or learning materials, do not be shy to ask. I may or may not post some of the work I do on the forums, that will probably depend if Priske or any of you want me to.
Anywho, I look forward to getting to know you all through these forums, and I will try to check them often.

Hello MBD members. This looks to be a good and worthy place with fine members all. I was very interested to see the Role Playing thread and may be joining in - if and when business slows down again. I can't devote much time to anything at the moment, but "I'll be back!". For sure I'll be keeping an eye on it. I love to write, and it seems there are many creative and talented writers here.
As for FPS Creator, I've been playing around with it for years. I'm not a pro - nor do I desire to be - but it is fun and relaxing when you're not pulling your hair out. Even that feels good when you stop. I can fumble my way through modeling, texturing, and scripting so if I can be of service to anyone please let me know. I hope to have more time to get back to modeling soon.
Anyway, most of you know me so I'll leave it at that.
Brian.

Hey, Brian! It's great to see you over on MBD. We'd love to see you in the role playing threads, and the other areas of the forum. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing some more of your 3D work when you get the time to work on it.

Hey all.
I am Shadowtroid. I have had FPSC for only about a year, but I learn fast and I know most of the ins and outs. I should mention though, I have been making games for much longer than that. So far FPSC is my favorite.
I guess if I could, I would sign up for being the welcome wagon. In case anyone of the new ones from the FPSC boards come over here, I can set them straight.

Welcome, Imperfect Sheep! It's good to see some new faces around here. To kind of sum up how MBD is different than TGC, we're a little more honest with how we critique, meaning, if you're showing a screenshot that can be easily replicated in 10 seconds, we'll let you know, but we'll also show you areas on how to improve... etc. Let me know if you have any questions on anything this side of the internet, and I'll do my best to answer them for you.
